Birding Chile is a Company created for people with long experience in nature and wildlife, but focused in birds. All they are persons with decades in the field, working all along the country as biologists, guides or even photographers.



Birding Director

Gonzalo is our Birding Director. He has been birding since he was 13, and is also coauthor in two books about birds (Las Aves de Chile: Una Nueva Guia de Campo; Birds of Chile: a New Field Guide, only in Spanish) and wildlife (Fauna of Chile: Mediterranean Vertebrates, Spanish and English). He has been guiding for more than 10 years and also is a photographer, with pictures published in Chilean, Argentinian, USA and European books. He is originally Agronomist, with specialization in Agrarian Economy.

Travel Planer Director

Our Travel Planner Director has an extensive experience in planning and operation of tourist programs in Chile and abroad, in addition to a career as a marketing advisor for several companies in the tourism industry. Juan Ignacio has worked with major companies such as Latitud 90, Condor Travel, Agunsa, Wildlife Conservation Society, Tourspain and teaching as an assistant professor in DuocUC Foundation. His knowledge about the various tourist destinations make him a reliable ally to discover the corners of our country.



Bird Illustrator

Daniel has a degree in art and is one of the best illustrators of birds of Chile. He is a birder since his childhood and is also the author of several books. He has traveled all over the country, sometimes birding and others working in environmental consulting. He has co-authored and illustrated books like “Fauna de vertebrados de Los Andes de Coquimbo: Cordillera de doña Ana” (Cortes, Torres, Contreras & Pino. Ediciones Universidad de La Serena), “Las Aves del Huinay. Una guía de campo para Chiloé continental e insular” (Cisternas & Martínez. Ediciones Universitarias de Valparaíso); “Las Aves de Chile Nueva Guía de Campo” (Martínez & González. Ediciones del Naturalista) and “Fauna de Chile: Vertebrados de la Zona Mediterranea” (Torres, González & Martínez. Ediciones del Naturalista), among others.
